The Aspiring Writer: Two Weeks in
Okay, so it’s been two weeks since my site went up. During that time I’ve had 198 unique visitors, so I’m doing a little better than I expected, even if 173 of those were in the last two days – uncoincidentally the amount of time since the latest issue of the PlotDog Press carnival went up (never underestimate the power of the blog carnival). Hopefully some of these people will stick around for future updates to the site, because there should be plenty more coming.
I’ve got a few more articles planned out, and I should be getting to work on some of those over this weekend. They should be coming at the standard rate of one every two days next week, and in the following weeks. Also, more fiction, lots more fiction: It’s the reason I started this site, and it’s what will form the main meat of it, so look out for that, a new story or original piece every week.
And do let me know what you think of this site. I’ve been checking my statistics and they’re looking good for a fledgeling site from someone with no experience of site-building, but they don’t tell the whole story: some good, honest feedback would also help. The site’s constantly changing (you may have noticed that excerpts are posted on the main page rather than full articles now to make scrolling down the main page easier) and so I’m open to ideas and suggestions of how I could improve the site. More colours and pictures for example? Or do people prefer the minimalist aesthetic I’ve gone for (perhaps more than a little inspired by Ubuntu Linux)? And is there any work anyone thinks I should take a look at, some classic novel I haven’t read yet, or some unique and life-changing film I’ve not mentioned?
All you have to do is leave a comment in the box below, and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
Henry.
